It’s Nice When I Hear My “Name” Called! “Nannie, Grandy, Grandaddy, David, etc

It Breaks My Heart To Discover I Wasted Time-But Still Do It Too Often.

I have recently discovered how lazy I had become. I began to think that Carol and I could just coast on out. Married almost 52 years, we have a really good relationship – not perfect – but really good, and we’ve been teaching relationship principles in many environments for almost 30 years. But, recently, I woke up to the realization that I had become lazy physically, spiritually, and relationally. I needed to move; get up and move.

So, I asked my Father for help- I prayed, He answered, and now I am moving – exercising (nothing too radical but much better than before). I am trying to give Jesus more of my thinking, praying, and exploration/curiosity time. I am also focusing more on my relationships with family, with friends, and in ministry opportunities. One stark realization was that I had not been calling out to my Father God nearly as much as before. I’ve wanted to stay in as constant touch with God as possible.

Both my happiness and my holiness were negatively impacted by my laziness.

In earlier days, as today, I love(d) hearing my children, and now my grandchildren call my name simply because they want(ed) to be with me to walk, play, or read books. I also love it when they just want to talk or be with me….no matter how old they’ve become. My guess is that our Heavenly Father loves to hear us call His name too; whether we are coming to ask Him a question, focus on needs, or simply to worship and give Him thanks.

Things are better on all fronts!! Join me?

Recapture God’s vision for your life, your marriage, your family, your service, and calling! When you and I first came to faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, our Father called our name – perhaps quietly or maybe boldly, but He did call us to salvation. Aren’t you so grateful He knew your name, called your name, and still wants to keep the relationship growing? Listen and respond when He calls your name. Initiate times with Jesus by calling out to Him first. He is readily available to you and me. Our joy and success in living this life abundantly depend on it.
