He says, “More Grandaddy!
Carol and I have 11 wonderful grandchildren, each special to us in his/her own unique way. We enjoy spending time with them, and they seem to enjoy us too. One of the 11 is already in heaven due to a miscarriage; another is on the way and will be with us around the first of December. The other 9 range from eighteen years down to 20 months. I could brag about each one and how they have shown love to us in meaningful ways.
When they let us know they want to be with us, want us to spend time with them, want to talk to us or just have us around, Carol and I feel loved. Since I know these articles can get really long sometimes, I am going to confine my comments to our youngest grandchild. He has a unique way of letting his parents know that he wants his grandparents and wants to find us. He says, “More Grammy, more grandaddy!” He even adds “please” sometime. Can you imagine how that makes us feel to be wanted and enjoyed to the extent that he would say, “More Grammy, please!” “More Grandaddy, please” ? Then we he finds us, he lights up and is ready to play.
When Jesus was here on earth with us in His earth-suit body, He told His disciples in John 14: 1-6 that He wants us (His children) with Him so much that He was going to prepare a place for us, and one day we would be with Him in that place – forever. In 1 Thessalonians 4:17 the apostle Paul wrote that Jesus is coming back for us, and “so shall we ever be with the Lord.” Jesus is saying, “More Dave, please.” More Carol, please.” More (your name), please!
So, are you ready? Could we make sure Jesus knows that we care for Him by saying, “More Jesus, please!” When we spend time with Him, thanking Him, confessing sin to Him, worshipping Him, and serving Him, can you imagine the joy we bring to the heart of One who loves us so much? Let’s love Him with ALL of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and each other as we love ourselves. We have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Pleasing God is actually our first order of business! Ephesians 5:10
