MY “MOMMA DIDN’T RAISE NO FOOL”! (PART 2)
NEITHER DID MY DADDY!
Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! Psalm 14:1
Concluding that there is no God is truly foolish. The two greatest dilemmas of mankind are our sin nature and our condition of aloneness. Without God there is no solution to either the problem of sin, that is plaguing our world, or the problem of aloneness that is common to all in all time and every place.
God’s solution to man’s sin is Jesus Christ, and there is no other way to resolve the problem. It is God’s will that all people everywhere repent and come to faith in His Son. The message of Jesus Christ’s perfect life, horrible death, and glorious resurrection is Good News, we call it the Gospel.
Although we play a huge role in spreading that Gospel, God apparently has other ways of spreading His truth by direct revelation, answers to the prayers of those seeking solutions, and even dreams and visions. However He does it, there is and will be no excuse for not coming to faith in His Son and our Savior Jesus Christ.
Though not as often addressed as Christ’s being the solution for our sin, we humans have another characteristic plaguing us. It is our aloneness. I mean we were built to know and be known, to love and be loved. We are built for meaningful, ever deepening love relationships. The Bible reveals God’s love in marriage, in family, in friendships, and in the church. These institutions are God-ordained and intentionally established. They and the relationships that cement them are profound ideas from the God Who is Love.
I am not saying that believing in God and following His leadership is easy. In fact, without His presence and power in us these things are impossible to experience. They may be difficult to grasp, but they are not complicated. The plan is simple.
- Look Up and see God’s hand in the heavens’ vastness, beauty, and order.
- Look Down and see God’s handiwork in the smallest creatures and physical laws that govern this planet.
- Look Around and see the beauty and wonder of His creation of others and their designed miraculous life.
- Look In the mirror and marvel at the wonder of you.
- Look Inside and know the simplicity of the need you have for His love and provision – 100% of the time. Our own neediness can lead us to the Need- Meeter – to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Most of us are foolish for a time and try to live life as if there is no God, but eventually we understand that life without Him is existence but not really life. Jesus Christ is perhaps the greatest evidence of God’s existence, as our Father. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
