Tell Me I’m Not Dreamin’
Could it be that our prayers are being answered? Well, of course they are. God answers prayers. I know. I know. He doesn’t answer me the way I think He should at times, nor does He always give me what I want. That would be dangerous because I am not God. In fact, the Bible declares that He is “able to do exceedingly abundantly above all I can ask or think.”
Lately, as I have continued to pray for revival and a return of our nation to the ways of God, I have seen pockets of it, persons doing just that, and places where changes toward Jesus have been happening. Amazingly, they are happening around me more and more often.
I recently watched an old Tom Hanks movie from 1998 where the co-stars were depicted as living (unmarried) with their partners, but the only overt sexual contact was kissing. The point is that the “living together” part left some things to the imagination in that they were sharing the same bed with their partners but no sexual activity was shown. The trend in movies has been downward toward anything goes, show it all, and leave absolutely nothing to the imagination.
But wait a minute!
Have you noticed a new trend in the last decade toward movies (quality movies) coming to the screen having moral themes, showing godly examples, starring characters with integrity and a Christ-like world view? Carol and I are enjoying watching “The Chosen” series and another series on Tubi (streaming app) called “Drive through History: The Gospels”. The Chosen has a stated goal of reaching every country in the world and garnering one billion views, at least. “Drive through Htory: The Gospels” has a host who speaks freely of the authenticity of scripture and of Jesus Christ as Messiah.
As we anticipate Jesus’ return, could it be that there is an awakening happening to get the Gospel out so that all will know or at least hear the message of Jesus before the end comes. I do believe Jesus will return to this earth to rapture His Church. Of course, I don’t know when, but I believe it. I also know that there is prophesied a great “turning away” (apostasy) which we may have been observing for some time.
Here’s what I am saying: Though the turning away is happening and sin abounds worldwide, you and I can be part of the “returning to Jesus” movement that is happening concurrently. In your world and in mine, we can be the story others read clearly telling the truth about Jesus Christ and the salvation only He can bring.
So, promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ however you can – by your life, your words, your finances and what you support, the movies/books/shows informing you world-view, and find creative ways to be part of the “return to Jesus ” movement turning your back on the apostasy of our age.
