Stand Firm! Momma Said There’d Be Days Like This!

Encouragement: Urging others to persist and persevere in their efforts to attain their goals; stimulating others toward love and good deeds.

(1 Thessalonians 5:11, Hebrews 10:24)

1 Corinthians 15:58: Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Momma said there would be days like this!

Have you ever had a week that just drained you? When it’s Tuesday and you just want it to be the weekend? At times such as these we can encourage our spouse to just STAND FIRM!

We can remind our spouse that this just may be a season, but God’s plan is bigger than what can be seen right now. He has us held perfectly in His arms! “Stand firm, my love because I have you also!”

My husband and I always say to one another that no matter what happens outside, when we come home…that is our safe place! We know that no matter how much the world may push us around, when we are home, together, we help one another to stand firm!

When our spouses know we “have their back”, no matter what, that can fill our relationships with the encouragement needed to press on!

Jesus – The Light of the World: (Jesus Meets Our Need For Encouragement)

Hebrews 7: 22-25: Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant. Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Is this not encouraging? Jesus is always interceding for you! No matter what you are going through, valley’s or mountain tops, Jesus is speaking to God on your behalf! I don’t know about you but I can’t think of anyone better than Jesus to intercede for me! 🙂

Maybe you are struggling with something right now. Maybe you don’t even have the words to pray because your frazzled emotions are speaking louder than Truth. Will you acknowledge that your Savior is lifting you before the Heavenly Father at this moment? He loves you and He wants to tell The Father all that is in your heart and all that He sees for you at this moment!

Be encouraged friends by the Great Encourager Himself!

His Word – A lamp and a Light

Let’s do: Proverbs 12:25 Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.

When encouragement is absent your spouse can feel unloved, unimportant, and forgotten. God knows his people are in need of grace-filled reminders, so he calls us to encourage each other every day.

Encouragement is shared with the hope that it will lift someone’s heart. It points out evidence of grace in another’s life to help them see that God is using them. It points a person to God’s promises that assure them that all they face is under his control.

You And I Are “The Light of the World” – Jesus Said So.

We can be a “Light Shiner” towards our spouse! Just as a lighthouse shines the safe way in the dark sea, we can brighten our spouse’s day by our words of encouragement when their world may be a little or even very dark.

Will you practice being a safe place for your spouse? Practice having your home be the place where all the world can be shut out while being filled with God’s Grace and Love?
