Am I Just Weird or Am I OK? How About You?
Opinions- there is no shortage of them. Whatever you think about an issue, you will find some who agree, some who disagree, and some who simply don’t care or have an opinion…or they are unwilling to enter the conversation. But there is one opinion that matters most to most of us (well, there is a variety of opinions on that too, huh?). Whatever your take on it, people are very often concerned with what others think of them. Those opinions or attitudes toward us can certainly shape how we feel about life, impact our happiness, and even change the direction of the decisions we make. Would you agree? Do You Have An Opinion??
Want to find some stability and some actual opinions that truly matter? It’s kinda’ like a work of art that is the artist’s pride and joy. Whether others are willing to pay a high price for it is determined by their assessment of it, but to the artist who created it and invested time and talent, as well as, emotion and labor, the value may not have a price tag, or the price may be so high that no one else would be willing to pay to have that piece of art. Maybe the artist is happy just to keep it, always having it as part of his/her private collection.
God, the Father of Jesus Christ and our Creator, placed such a high value on you and me that not just anyone could pay that price. No one had enough resources to satisfy the “artist’s price”. No one was righteous enough to deserve either paying the price or giving something for us. So, the Father gave His Son, His only Son Jesus, as payment for the sin we’d committed and the debt we’d incurred. So what is His opinion of you?
More than you can say …. Higher than you can imagine….. Deeper than any other love…. He really loves you. Just ask Him to reveal the level of His desire for your presence in His family. Ask Him to reveal to your heart as much of His love as you can stand and make sure you are sitting down in a place where you won’t bother others with your surprised reaction. You may shout. You may cry with joy. You may slip into worship of the One Who loves you so.
You are His uniquely prized work of art – just like everyone else. His love is so great that He can focus infinite, unconditional love on you and me simultaneously and not lack love for either of us or any of us. What a wonderful Father we have!
