We Did It! There’s More Where That Came From!!!

We Did iT! Let’s Do That Again!

Twenty of our men (younger, middle, older) went on the June 3-5 CampOut to Lackawanna State Park, and we had a great time. The teens helped us split some firewood, fished, ran, kayaked, played corn hole, and threw football – basically just had a good time. Our men did most of the same things with a little less speed! We ate well, thanks to Ken Durr’s culinary skills with a cast iron dutch over over a wood/charcoal fire. Apparently the blueberry pastry and egg casserole are now legendary. The barbeque chicken was great too.

We are already talking about doing it again in late September or early October. Stay tuned. Got any ideas for us to check out?

In the meantime, we are looking into going to dinner and a ballgame together as men / kids and grandkids in either August or September. Stay tuned on that too.

Also, working on a Builders Men’s Breakfast!

Last but not least__________ here is a list from Carol Andersen from BLOOM. I asked her for an updated list of projects needing some skilled, willing hands to complete at their houses in Bango and/or Bethlehem.

Never any pressure – just want you to see opportunities to serve these awesome folks who are helping women put their lives back together.

Here is the number if you want to call and see how you and some friends could help them: 484-241-6516 – Speak with Ashley

JASMINE HOUSE – prioritized projects – this house is in Bangor

HIGH:

  • Doorknobs to laundry room and basement
  • New faucet in kitchen sink
  • Replace flooring on front porch where broken
  • Fix flooring on back deck where broken

LOW:

  • Electric for bringing basement refrigerator upstairs to pantry – will also require moving light stitch for pantry and half bath to opposite wall.
  • Side porch door (near bedroom) needs a new lock mechanism – we would prefer keypad entry so we can have same code to back entry door. The key system for this door is not always working properly and it is a security issue

HEATHER HOUSE – this house is in Bethlehem (near historic downtown Bethlehem)

HIGH

  • Ceiling tiles – kitchen and third floor
  • Minor spackling and wall repair
  • Touch up painting

LOWER:

  • Bedroom painting
  • Pantry painting
  • Refrigerator handle repair

See you guys soon,

Pastor Dave
