It Wasn’t Me, Nor Was It I !
However you say it, I can’t and won’t take credit. When we left our church staff position in 2010 to launch The Basic Idea Ministries (currently Basic Idea Ministries -BIM), we did so with an understanding that “where God guides He always provides” and with the clear vision of God’s calling us to invest in relationships – singles, couples, and families. Now 14 years later and many miles traveled while meeting hundreds and hundreds of folks inside and beyond the United States’ borders, we’ve seen God’s faithfulness to supply our needs and open doors to opportunities across denominational lines.
As I wrote a few weeks back, I told you that we would not ask for funding for ourselves, but we’d mention money in the context of helping others. Our letter contained a request that you pray about “end of year giving” to help those we support in other places. I asked you to pray and consider it. Apparently you did.
We saw a larger than usual amount come into our umbrella organization Helping Hands in an amount that will allow us to give more away to help fund marriage ministry in Mexico with a larger monthly donation to them. We hope to increase by $200 – $300 a month for the coming year. We also plan to keep giving to other Gospel ministries in the USA(PA, GA,IL) , Honduras, Bosnia, Central Asia, Romania, and Africa. We will pay the bills of BIM and give as much away to support others as we can.
So, whether or not you are in the group who gave/give, I want to thank you for encouraging us via prayer for those on our monthly calendar, reading the 52 week plan, texting/calling/meeting with us.
(I am aware of some of you who gave directly to BIM, but I may not know the names of all of those who give through Helping Hands)
Thank you for praying, listening to the Father, giving as He directs whether to us or others, and thank you for living for Jesus where you are and shining His light of love and truth in a world so desperately in need of Him.
Sometimes the faithfulness of God is seen through the faithfulness of His people: you and us! Amazing to be part of His eternal plan, isn’t it?
