At the beginning of 2019, our organization officially changed from a non-profit to a sole proprietorship, officially registered as David Keith Lewis DBA (doing business as) Basic Idea Ministries. We are now referring to our ministry as BIM instead of TBI.
With this change in status comes a change in the donation process. The new donation process has 2 options:
- Make a non-tax-deductible donation directly to Basic Idea Ministries.
- Make a tax-deductible donation through our partner non-profit, Helping Hands Ministry (see more below).
Note: Your donation is greatly appreciated and will be invested in activating mentoring relationships, building marriage ministries, conducting marriage conferences, developing teams of dedicated volunteers, and equipping mentors to spread the impact of this “one-to-many” ministry

Option 2: Make a Tax-Deductible Donation via Helping Hands
Tax deductible gifts can still be made as recommendations for our ministry through Helping Hands Ministry. Helping Hands Ministry will operate as our umbrella organization, receive donations recommended for BIM, and regularly send the donations to us – minus their 8% fee.
The simplification of our ministry from TBI to BIM sole proprietorship saves us time & administrative challenges, and costs less than the amount of money we were spending to keep the nonprofit.
